What this site collects

Very little. There is no analytics or visitor tracking, the site sets no cookies, and there are no forms to fill in. You can read every page without giving any information.

Server logs

The company that hosts the site keeps standard server logs for security, such as the IP address that made a request, the page requested and the time. These logs help keep the site running and protect it from abuse. They aren't used to build profiles of readers.

Videos

Some pages show a video from YouTube. Videos are click-to-load and use YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie) player. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once you do, YouTube's privacy terms apply to that video.

Pages link to county, city, state and federal agencies, makers' manuals and a few businesses. Those sites follow their own privacy policies, not this one.
